Unlike traditional mechanical alarms, which use a hammer striking a gong to produce a sound, the RM 62-01’s alarm is completely silent. When activated, an offset rotating mass, powered by its own dedicated barrel and inspired by the principle of an automatic rotor, spins at 5,400 rpm to generate a vibration transmitted directly to the wearer’s wrist. The rotation frequency was precisely tuned to optimise the balance between vibration, energy consumption and duration, while preventing resonance with the movement. The result is a discreet signal that can be clearly felt by the wearer, yet remains imperceptible to those around them.
